So I got accepted to both of these schools and am looking for advice on which one I should choose based on my intended major, Mechanical Engineering. pros and cons?

I feel cal poly pomona is a better match for you based on that major. That’s my biased opinion though. Go for the one that offers more opportunities.

Thanks for the response. If anybody else has suggestions or advice about each one please share because I cannot decide!

Cal Poly all the way since you are engineering

I agree with the previous posters – Cal Poly Pomona if it’s Engineering.
You’ll have access to better internships through their recognized Engineering department which, will go a long way toward grad school admission.

I’m not sure about SDSU. I grad from CPP as a ME.

Pros: small class, no TA and pretty competitive + Dashner
Cons: not so much hands on as others said.

You will love Dashner to bits and pieces.
Make sure you don’t fail 3 times from the same course tho. You will be out of major.
I have seen a lot of people getting kicked out of major during their junior year not sophomore and not freshman.

I would say Cal Poly Pomona too. US news has been consistently ranking the engineering program in the top 10 in the country for various reasons including a good reputation with industry. SDSU is great for athletics though.

For engineering Cal Poly Pomona over SDSU
