SDSU or UCSD?

I was accepted to both UCSD and SDSU. I am attracted to SDSU’s nursing program; I want to become a nurse. I want to become an RN then go on to get Master’s of Science in Nursing to become a Neonatal Nurse practitioner.

UCSD accepted me and awarded me their Chancellor’s Scholarship, which is basically a full ride combined with my Cal Grant, covering the rest of my tuition, books, and other fees. However, UCSD does not have an undergraduate Nursing Program. I want to be a nurse.

What do i do?!

If you were accepted to the direct admit nursing program at SDSU, I think the choice is obvious. Yes the money is great at UCSD, but there are no guarantees that you will get into a nursing program once you finish at UCSD or transfer. Go with the guaranteed program.

thank you!!

SDSU if money is not that big of an issue .

@hillaryly I would strongly consider UCSD over SDSU. They don’t give a full ride to everyone, you must be a very talented, high achieving person. While UCSD does not have an undergrad nursing program, they do have some very strong Bio programs that can lead to this career path. I would advise that you schedule an hour session with UCSD counselor, meet with them and go over your options at this school. SDSU is an excellent school too, but once again, Chancellor’s at UCSD is somewhat rare.
