If they are using a software for this, it is likely that they run some sort of algorithm, rather than randomly picking applications from the stack one by one. So far, there’s been a lot of arts and letters majors, business, education, engineering, some fine arts (1 or 2 people I think)… If this hypothesis is correct, then Health and Sciences are next. They will probably do several rounds too, so if you are a business major and you haven’t heard back yet, I would not lose hope.
If I am from the Bay Area, but currently go to college in SoCal (UC Riverside), will they take that into consideration? Any Public Health major applicants?
You’re considered a local applicant if you attend grossmont, southwestern, mesa, Miramar or cuyamaca college.
I was admitted yesterday and my major falls under S - Social Work, so I’m not sure if it’s alphabetical order?
still think it is influnced by alphabetical order. Im in aerospace engineering, my freind got into civil engineering. my friend who has more prereqs finished and higher gpa hasnt heard back for mechanical engineering

@lenocturne I think that’s how they’re doing it, by college. Everyone that’s been admitted is under Arts and Letters.
@aepaige Someone was accepted for social work and that falls under College of Health and Human Services
@aepaige not everyone. According to this matrix (https://asir.sdsu.edu/Pages/applications-by-major.aspx) business is a separate college, and so is engineering. 
Either way, I am this close to calling them and asking them if they plan on releasing CS decisions any time soon. Me gots to know now :(( Or else. >:)

I think they are doing it by colleges too. Mine is sciences and according to previous threads those heard back after all of the social work, communications, etc

Anyone with Nursing major has received the decision from the school yet? Will they send the acceptance email at midnight? I found myself waking up at night sometimes and logging into the portal to check the status.
