Everyone who is worried about a pre-major status - don’t be, it’s normal. I called SDSU about a month ago about the same thing, and they basically told me that everyone is placed into a pre-major first until admissions are able to verify a completion of prerequisites for the major (which usually happens after they get your final transcripts).
Major: Electrical Engineering
GPA: 3.45
AA-T/AS-T?: No
Pre-reqs: Missing 4 classes COMPE 270, 271; EE 210, 280
Golden 4: Completed
SD Area?: Yes
Denied with wait list option
econ major…pending…I’m assuming it’s going to be a rejection (It can’t be early March for that much longer haha).
So, I had emailed SDSU admissions regarding the admission process for ADT applicants…
and here’s their response:
“ADT applicants are given priority consideration to a CSU campus during the admissions decisions; however, they are not given a GPA boost . . . We will begin notifying ADT students on or after March 15th.”
Hopefully we hear back soon. Time will tell.
@RatedR95 Ask the admissions office 5 times and you’ll get 5 different answers. I’ve never been told that AD-T acceptances start after the 15th because some have already gotten in.
@samjacoby93 True, but I’m just sharing what I was told, I don’t think it is 100% accurate though. As for the ADT acceptances that have gotten in that’s because they applied to a major not deemed similar to the SDSU major. So, their ADT was not considered in the evaluation process.

Does anyone know about waitlisting does that mean there is still a chance you can get in or does that mean still unlikely because I got denied but it said I can be put down on the waitlist.
I would assume that once they release all their admissions those who choose not to go to SDSU – they will pick from the waitlist to fill up the spots. Not 100% sure, but there is still a chance.
@simplydiana Im just so pissed it makes no sense how I got denied because I have a AAT and the deadline to send those in for verification is the 15th of march and they emailed me and told me that was what I had so I do not understand how I got denied when an AAT was on my app but I had not yet sent it in and its not past the deadline so how can they just dismiss my app and deny me. At this point there has to be a mistake…
@RatedR95 I’ll e-mail and ask. What was the address you sent it to? admissions@sdsu.edu?
Anyone got in today? I am still pending… I wish I knew already.
Nope, @lenocturne. Still pending here as well, but I’m with the AA-T bunch.
@lenocturne nope still pending, Computer science major here. Any other computer science majors got in yet?
@aepaige hoowwwww! I have a fucking AAT and they gave me a decision without even giving me up until deadline to turn it in
@aepaige yeah I emailed admissions@sdsu.edu…u culd try asking nd see what response u get
@Ikbeck93 I think it’s because your ADT major was not equivalent to the SDSU major. I checked the list for the approved SDSU majors and Graphic Design was not on the list
SDSU is strict regarding the ADT degrees they deem similar to their majors… a lot of people last year were denied even though they applied with an ADT because of this. So your AA-T was likely not considered when they evaluated your app.
Does anyone know if the aa-t for sure gives you a .1 bump?
and if so, is that technically the only advantage to the aa-t?
I am sooooo annoyed right now with admissions and my school. I sent admissions an email weeks ago about how they want me to send in my preliminary verification and they said either mail in the form with a signature from your counselor or have my school do it online, and so my counselor signed the form for me because the admissions/records office at my school was being difficult about it. This was all two weeks ago. I recently emailed SDSU to make sure they got my form in the mail and now they’re saying I’m supposed to have my school submit it online and that they can’t locate my form even though it was mailed out by my counselor two weeks ago. So I had to rush to admissions and records at my school today to ask them and the lady wasn’t even listening to me and rushed me and said she was gonna submit something for me but I don’t even think she knows what I was asking her to submit because she rushed me out in like 1-2 minutes. This is making me even more stressed out because now I have to rely on my school to send out my verification before the deadline
@mechhcem I don’t think it gives a bump, I looked all over SDSU’s website about the AD-T and I’ve found nothing about a bump in gpa, and I think someone earlier in the thread said that they emailed SDSU and they said that it doesn’t give a bump, I think a AD-T just shoes that the students has taken more classes for their major in addition to completing all their other GE’s
@RatedR95 Yeah I just called them and I guess because my AAT was in Studio Art it doesn’t go towards my Graphic Design but its frustrating because my school SBCC told me oh yeah it counts it will help you! which now I know was a bunch of bs. Also sucks since I have worked toward this for 4 years and my father died right before I was originally going to transfer last year so I got held back a year and got all B’s and C within that year. I mean I got waitlisted but I feel like thats just a slap in the face and a chance of oh hey the odds are you still probably will not get in because its so low.
