SDSU Transfer Decisions Thread 2016

@KK456 Okay, well what I found out was that my cc had a link where you could buy your own degree verification and I just handed it in yesterday at preview day. This student was working in the advising center and she said the deadline was extended to March 19th! I even received an email from office staff this week stating that they wouldn’t start pulling info from them until yesterday. So I think I’m good. As long as that student can show them my receipt and signature with the date (she filled out another form for the office), then I’m safe. I hope lol

For everybody who has been admitted to sdsu for next fall, I was wondering if anyone will be living at on campus apartments at villa alvarado?

@bonjouruc2016 I got denied and am appealing, for a few different reasons. I can explain more over PM if you were interested

When were you denied? @bonjouruc2016

So I am still pending and I am not applying with an ADT- should I just assume at this point that I am most likely not getting in?

@cb1996 if your major is one that offered an ADT then you would also wait until April to find out, the email said that anyone who applied for majors that accept the adt, whether you have one or not, would also have to wait till April with the adt applicants because they have to wait for the verifications to come in before making any decisions

No, that isn’t right. ^^^ A friend of mine applied as a communication major and didn’t have an ADT, she was denied in March and communications offers the ADT.

@mechhcem yeah I know people have already been accepted/denied in majors offering the adt but I was just saying what the email said that was sent from SDSU, the remaining applicants who haven’t heard back yet have to wait till April

@PaleoMajor Hey sorry hadn’t checked in a bit. No nothing yet still pending :/. are you getting the ADT or regular AA? Hopefully our majors are unimpacted enough this year we wont have to worry too much…

@mario1456 Hopefully you find out soon. That waiting game sucks. My counselor said that I can only get the AA. I guess there isn’t an ADT for geology majors from san diego community colleges. I re-meeting up with a counselor in a few days though to double check that and some other stuff. Let us know when you’re not pending anymore!

@PaleoMajor im transferring from Grossmont and they have one. Are you going to SDSU counselors?

Has anyone gotten financial aid awards yet? I’m assuming in April, but that’s a reaaallly important aspect for me so I’m antsy

@mario1456 I didn’t know that it was possible to see the counselors at SDSU yet. I see that the Mesa community college has an ADT for geology, so when I talk to the counselor there after spring break then I’m going to ask about doing it. I looked online at the classes required for it and it looks like I would just have to add on calc 2 in order to do it. But, how much help does the ADT really do though? I heard that it gives priority admission, but does that really help a lot?

@PaleoMajor Most schools will give you a 0.1 GPA boost if you have an ADT. I’m not sure what SDSU does regarding priority, though. Also, I’m not sure when you plan on transferring, but it’s for this fall then it’s too late to get the ADT degree before transferring.

How are people getting accepted already? I’m still patiently waiting till April. Maybe it is because they are local?

I’m in state but 2 hours away from sdsu- so not a local. Still says pending and I sent in my app since oct 31 lol

I got accepted to csuci, csula, csusb, csulb, csusm, but what I really want is to go to sdsu.

You got accepted to Cal State San Marcos? With an ADT? When?

@mario1456 I’m applying to transfer this fall. If accepted then I should start at SDSU Fall 2017. My current GPA is a 3.6 roughly. I only have about 4 more classes to take. If that’s really the amount of boost then I may not want to get it. I really, really, really do not want to take Calc 2
