Just wondering, would it be possible for ADT admitted students to change their upper division concentration? Or are we locked in that particular major? I’m doing the ADT business major and got admitted to general business (only major deemed similar) but I want to change my concentration from general business to finance.
I would think I can since all business majors have to take the same prerequisites, but I’m not entirely sure.
@mario1456 Were you able to complete all your major prep? I know for geology that there is usually a class or two that has no equivalency. Did you just not worry about those classes, or did you do open enrollment with SDSU to finish your major prep?
@karmavee your stats are awesome don’t worry about other schools you applied to, you’ll most likely get in. Sdsu is just nearly impossible to get into if you’re not from the SD area because they give priority to those students. Good luck!

I have no idea what to do because i have been following my transfer plan from city college for business marketing and also working on my business associates i just need cal 1. I apply this fall and would really to go to SDSU. I dont know if i should apply to the Business Administration with ADT or just apply for Business marketing in the general pool and get the GPA boost 0.1? My counselor showed me the average local transfer for marketing was 2.94 and with average w/ ADT is 3.5! i have no idea what to do…OR i can change majors and get in with TAG guaranteed admission if i change to Public Administration (only need 1 poli sci class) to change and then change my major when i am at SDSU? The major i really want is Business marketing but i really want to get my degree from SDSU. Applying to CSULB and CSUSM. backups.
@bonjouruc2016 really? how soon? it is imperative i have complete all the major prep classes cause i have to do a cross enrollment at SDSU for fall cause no local cc offers it and i need a poli sci class as well. Can i still apply without completing my major prep courses?
It’s not too hard to change your major once offered admission, or so i was lead to believe. I think you need a 2.0 and some credits completed before changing. Someone posted the specific stats here in the sdsu forums, I’m not just sure where. I’m actually going to change my major from business administration- general to an emphasis in accounting. I would use your adt if possible and then change your emphasis later because that’s exactly what I’m doing.
In regards to cross enrollment, be very careful and make sure you get at least a C (2.0 gpa) from the class(es) that you take at state. If you were to get anything lower than a C or a 2.0 then you would automatically be denied admission. I’ve seen a kid get denied because he got a C- in a cross enrollment class.
I also believe that you can apply without all major prep done, but I wouldn’t risk it of you have an opportunity to take the class.
@sdsuletmeinn
3.55 gpa for the business general ADT and yes I’m local. I’ve seen people get in with 3.0’s just because they are local and have an ADT. I feel if you have a lower gpa then you should go the ADT route, especially if you’re local. Only downfall is that we found out last if we got accepted.
@nionic that makes sense. I was thinking of applying general pool in marketing but I guess I can always change the ephasis later. And I have all spring semester open to take poli sci and the cross enrollment just in case I don’t get in and apply next fall with tag for public administration. Thank youuuuuuu so much!
So… idk if any of you other rejects like me took SDSU up on their offer to contact CSUCI and CSUDH for an admissions decision, but I already got accepted to CSUCI without having to do anything more than e-mail them and ask them if they got my application. It’s a good option if SDSU was the only place you applied to.
I’m one of those last few people STILL pending at this point, and today I checked my portal to see that sdsu wants a copy of my high school transcripts. Is this normal? Before, it had always just said that they were “not required.”
I understand that schools will ask for high school transcripts after acceptance sometimes, but as a transfer student, I’m confused on how my high school grades are going to affect their decision. Does anyone know what this might mean for me?
I was admitted for business administration and I’m missing a few major prep courses.I was wondering if I took one of em over the summer, would SDSU honor it?
@RatedR65: You would need to contact admissions, since posters here could only guess in regards to your situation. Get the definitive answer from them.
I’m a high school senior planning to go attend community college in the fall for two years and then transfer to SDSU.
Is getting accepted going to be hard for me if I don’t have an AA-T/AS-T? They don’t offer one for my major: Kinesiology - Emphasis on Physical Therapy. I also don’t live in the SD area and will be taking CC classes in Sacramento.
Also how do you guys plan your classes? Did you plan them for a specific university that you plan on transferring to? Or does it even matter? I noticed you guys applied to multiple colleges. As of now I planned my first semester classes for SJSU and SDSU but my counselor told me I would need to know where I would be transferring to by the end of the semester to plan my classes accordingly.
