Still pending with a date of 11/24.

I’m a chemistry major and local, and I don’t know anybody same as my major getting accepted. We are all waiting. Do you guys think they’ll notify people on Monday!? I’m so nervous.

Same here. I am also a chem major, local, still pending and still nervous. Last year I got an email around the second week of March saying that my decision would take longer because they give priority to AS-T apps and then eventually I got an email saying there was no room for me. But there is no AS-T for chem, sooooooooo…hmmm.

@brit.bermoy Yeah! Well we should have priority cause we’re local. It’s not our fault if there’s no AS-T for chemistry. I applied last year but I had 3 missing GE’s and two major prep. This year i’m done with all of them. I honestly would be very devastated if I don’t get in… i’m tired of CC!

Hopefully they let us know tomorrow, Im pretty positive I’m not getting in due to my first year in college I was a complete wreak and didn’t do very well. Came back with a vengeance and got all As but you can’t redo C’s so :(. Majoring in sociology ( local at mesa cc) and got into CSUSM, but highly doubt San Diego State as their acceptance rate is 34%. I got denied at CSULB with a similar acceptance rate

@CallMeKiki I’m thinking of living at Fifty Twenty Five Student Housing. It has more amenities than regular campus housing, it’s cheaper, and they have a free shuttle to campus. (But walking is an option too) It also includes all utilities and you are only responsible for the rent of your room.

@filmfiend91 DONT! or at least do A LOT of research before moving in. I’ve heard horrible things about it from a friend …it’s not like the website or the tour once you actually move in.

@MiniGrace11 I looked it up too after reading that post. My first impression wasn’t a good one. Lots of complaints.

@MrGonzo9733 you never know tbh. I got rejected from long beach but accepted into san diego. the overall acceptance rate gets tricky due to the different acceptance rate of each major.

@filmfiend91 Okay maybe not that place…haha.

Have you guys looked into anywhere else?

@CallMeKiki I don’t know if you saw my reply earlier (forgot to tag you), but the apartments on campus are supposed to be pretty nice and be styled more like apartments rather than a dorm (plus free wifi, gym, and cable). I’m going to check them out at open house. If you’re set on not living on campus then I would check out zillow.com or rent.com or apartments.com and see what’s around and a good deal. I’ve some pretty good places on rent.com

@devinlou I’m going to check out the on-campus apartments, too. I’m just not super into the uncertainty of having to rank your room type preferences instead of knowing what you’re getting for sure (single or double occupancy). Either way, I’m hoping to meet people at Explore SDSU so I can at least request a roommate I’ve met in person. That may be wishful thinking though haha, we’ll see.

@CallMeKiki I’m going to try and look for people I might want to room with to. I just hope I get in!

No place is going to be perfect, and honestly I have heard just as many complaints about on campus housing as well. However, thanks for expressing your concerns and looking out for each other. I’ve been researching. What appeals is the cost and the fact that I can lease by semester instead of by year. Im not 100% on going yet because of cost. Once I see what financial aid looks like then I will know for sure. Im open to living on campus just keeping my options open. Would love to get to know some people to possibly have as roommates!

For those that got accepted, do you wanna start a separate thread to discuss further stuff about SDSU?

Major: Public Health
GPA: 3.3
AA-T/AS-T?: No
Pre-reqs: 4 of 7 completed
Golden 4: Completed
SD Area?: Yes.
Admission Status; Pending (as of Dec, 2nd)

This is actually my second time applying to SDSU. Last year I applied and got accepted, but it was for a different major. I didn’t accept the admission, because I got accepted into a different university, but then some life situations happened and wasn’t able to attended that university.

I ended up taking classes at SDSU through their Open University program, because I switched my major. I still only have one year left to complete. I’m just hoping that I can get accepted again.

I’m still pending as of Nov 17. SDSU is one of my top options, and also my baby nieces live in San Diego. It would be fantastic to get an opportunity to go to school out in SD! However, I’m most likely not able to attend even if I get accepted, because I work full-time at Snapchat Inc. in Venice. Anyways, good luck to all still awaiting a decision! I’ll keep y’all informed of my admission status.

-SDSU is my back-up school. I am hesitant about moving so far away from my family and friends for the first time so I may end up going to CSUN because of that. My number one choice is UCLA though (decision is still pending)

@MiniGrace11 UCLA is a great school! I didn’t have enough time to submit a portfolio unfortunately. Best of luck! Although if we both go to SDSU we should buddy up since we are the same program! I’m slightly concerned that SDSU is a pre-major. I’m worried my portfolio wont get accepted in April 2018 when submissions start. It’s so weird to imagine attending without being fully accepted to the program yet. Aren’t you worried about that?
