So, I applied to UCs and CSUs last year and only got into UCR and SDSU (3.9 gpa, no ECs, 27 ACT). Anyways, I really don't like SDSU and I want to transfer. I know I'll have to wait until I hit junior standing. But, I'm wondering if it's really that much harder to transfer from a four year as opposed to a CCC.

This is my first semester here, so I don't really know what my GPA would be, but hopefully 3.75+. My major is undeclared right now, but I want to do Bio and Business, with one as a major and one as a minor (haven't really decided yet).

Also, I was wondering how it would look if I withdrew from SDSU for the spring term, then went to a CCC until it was time to transfer.

Thanks.

I had a similar situation. I had taken 48 credits at SDSU and wanted to transfer to a UC. The best plan for me was to attend CCC and take at least 30 credits, which gave me priority admission as a UC transfer. I eventually was accepted to UCI and UCSD.

Yes, it is more difficult to transfer from a CSU. This is because you are already attending a 4 year university opposed to a CCC student who needs somewhere to transfer to.

Thank, Yames1307. So it looks as if they dont’ really care if you go from a four year to a 2 year, as long as you keep your gpa up and get all the requirements fulfilled.

If it really is easier,I’m pretty sure I’ll end up going to a CCC next year.

Any other thoughts? Thanks for the advice thus far!

i went to ucsb for a year before withdrawing and going to CCC for another year to get priority and transfer. It seemed like a really drastic thing to do but it all worked out in the end for me.

Thanks for the info, JetForce. It seems like going to a four year for awhile then going to CCC isn’t’ such a bad idea.
