Hey all, first post, pleasure to be here.

Anyway, I think if i pushed a bit harder in school (like to party a bit too much :p), I could probably get into an ivy or two, but that's not my thing, I don't really wanna do that.

So I live on the east coast (jersey, five minutes from the city), and I don't wanna stay up here. I wonder alot what makes NYU great to some people, but thats for another post. My main two goals are florida and california. I want a good psych program school, so outside of the ones I list I'm glad for suggestions.

I'm an african american man living with my mother and stepfather (she's not married to my original father). Anyway I'm going into Junior year this year, almost all honors/ap classes, my GPA is at a 3.913 (unweighted I believe, weighted would be over 4.0 as I got all Bs or As in my honors class for the past two years), I have been working jobs since I was 14, I'm now a telemarketer, though I worked in real estate as a secretary this summer in my father's firm (so I mean it's not going to be too impressive there). I ran track freshmen year, got a medal for 6th in my county for the 400 hurdles, didn't run sophmore year, considering doing it this year. I'm also looking to join student councel, the national honors society (I got the grades, I just never bothered applying, if that's what you have to do?), and probably also work as like a pseudo freshman guidance counsler, peer leadership program here. I live in a suburb, and we don't have a ton of clubs and whatnot like many schools, but we're pretty decent. I'm confident that I can get above a 2000 on the SATs and I'll also be taking the ACTs (since more colleges are looking for them).

I'm looking for colleges with a good party/social life (if you can't tell I'm a real social guy), but also a good academic program, especially psychology, though I understand that graduate school is probably more important than undergrad, I still want to start off on the right foot ya dig?

So if anyone can lemme know my chances, or even comment on the schools themselves or other schools in the area that might be good I'd appreciate it:

UC Santa Barbara (It's got its own beach AND playboy ranked it #2 this year for partying...can't beat that :p)
UC Santa cruz (They seem to have a lot of psychology courses, as well as a really nice campus and a good area, plus they got some high scores for some partying aspects :p)
San Diego State (I know this is safety, but I wanna know from some people if it's worth it, I know the parties are huge over there)
University of florida (good academics and parties I hear)
FSU (I don't know about this one, might be too safe for me)
University of miami (30k a year hurts though)
University of So. cal.

I was thinking about UC LA or UC B, but I hear UC B is like the femi nazi heaven, and I really don't feel like putting up with women who thinks I'm trying to demean her and treat her like dirt, and LA I'm not to sure about hte social life, plus I kinda wanna get away from the main cities, but I wouldn't hate living in one either, New York leave you feeling kinda drained.

Anyway, thanks in advance guys, keep partying and enjoying life.
