SDSU, UCSD, UCLA, UCR...

Hey there everybody. High school junior/upcoming senior here. First time posting here so excuse me if I make any mistakes. I’m just wondering what my chances would be at the above 4 schools?

3.83 GPA unweighted, but I can possible up it depending on if I take some summer school classes and get As on them.
1970 on SAT. 690 on reading, 660 on writing, 620 on math. but I will take it again in the fall.
As for my extra curricular, I don’t have much yet, except for a movie club, and 2 years worth of internships at hospitals in departments such as Radiology, Pharmacy, dietary nutrition, and engineering. I am planning on joining a few clubs next year as well, such as yearbook and newspaper. So overall, what do you guys think my changes are at each individual school? Also, do you think it would be wise for me to go back and fix a B I had this past semester and make it an A, or will it not be worth the trouble?

Calculate your UC/CSU GPA: http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Based on your posted stats, SDSU and UCR are match schools. UCSD/UCLA are reach schools.

Your B will not make or break your application. You want to bump your SAT score up to a 2100 for a chance at UCSD/ UCLA. I would add UCSC and UCI to your list for some other match schools. You also have a decent chance at UCD and UCSB. Good luck.

If you’re out-of-state, then your chances will greatly increase; it’s more competitive to be admitted to the UCs if you’re in-state. However, from your stats alone:

SDSU- match/safety
UCR- match
UCSD- low reach
UCLA- reach

I would recommend applying to any of the other UC schools, as well. UC Berkeley, however, would be a reach.
