I'm a hoping to be a Mechanical Engineer, and I live in San Diego. Which has a better Engineering program? O:

I SIR'd to Northridge, but I got un-waitlisted from SDSU. Ah! Indecision.

un-SIR to CSUN quick. SDSU is a far better engineering school and is a top-tier CSU, while CSUN is a mid-tier CSU.

A SDSU alum was the one that sent the rover to Mars recently! Just check this out > [College of Engineering Home Page - SDSU College of Engineering | SDSU](http://www.engineering.sdsu.edu/engineering/) and you will see that SDSU is the obvious choice.

If you live in San Diego you will be better off to stay. Have you visited CSUN? It’s a commuter school. SDSU has far and above the better campus environment. Also better facilities since SDSU offers the PhD.

SDSU grad program has a 4+1 BS/MS and also great bioengineering electives.

Looking through the info, visit both campus engineering departments. See which one has better facilities for your career goals. If you just want a degree and will work in industry, both will serve you well. I think CSUN will have a leg up on automotive work.

i calculated my csu gpa wrong and it made a difference of 3.9 gpa to 3.8 gpa. will SDSU revoke me for this? it was a mistake.

Well I got a 3.3 G.P.A (:

Internships are everything as a Mechanical Engineer. My brother went to SDSU and walked into a job due to internship experience. Same reason I chose Long Beach over Northridge, way more internship opportunities in the area (have one now). There just isnt much industry near northridge that will give you that kind of experience. San Diego is PACKED FULL of defense companies. Way better option to go to SDSU by far.
