SDSU vs CSULB vs CSMB

I am majoring in biology and want to eventually filter into marine biology so what school would be best? I would love to go to a school with lots of opportunities for research and internships and atmosphere is also very big for me. I come from a very small town and would love to branch out to a larger city. I don’t know whether I should choose San Diego, Long Beach, or Monterey so some feedback would be much appreciated. I am leaning most towards Long Beach as of now. Thank you!

Have you visited any of the schools?

If you want a larger city, I would cross off CSU Monterey Bay although if you are leaning towards Marine Biology, CSUMB would be a good choice for that area of interest.

Both CSULB and SDSU will give you an excellent education in the sciences (Biology). In regards to research and internships, it will be depend upon how much effort you put in to seek out these opportunities since they are there at both schools. Check out the career center and also look into the type of research the professors are conducting at each of these schools. Maybe some one’s research will stand out and then you could show interest.

SDSU if you want a fun school as well!
