Hello! so I've narrowed my college choices down to San Diego State and UC Santa Barbara. They are both about even to me, but the only thing I am hesitant about is that I want to do something in business I think (I'm realllllly unsure) but UCSB doesn't have a business program, so i would have to be a communications major. Any opinions or ideas on how to decide?

If you want to major in Business and UCSB doesn’t have a Busineess Major, I think that your decision is made. SDSU has a highly ranked Business program with 7 majors and 3 specializations. I think SDSU would have the most flexibility if you want to pursue a degree in Business.

I’d lean toward UCSB but, it’s simply a personal bias. Both schools have a solid reputation so, academically, you can’t go wrong.

You can probably find a major that’s very close to Bus in UCSB’s econ department.

I’d encourage you to go to the admitted student day and check them both out. Talk to students and faculty to figure out where you fit.

UCSB’s econ/accounting major is very strong, however, you need to look at their classes (here’s the link for this year’s academic catalog: <a href=“UC Santa Barbara General Catalog - Catalog Home”>http://my.sa.ucsb.edu/catalog/Current/ ) and programs and see if they or SDSU have what you want. I enjoyed UCSB’s lifestyle, but I’m not familiar with SDSU so I can’t compare them in that sense.

Here is what UCSB says about ‘management’ <a href=“UC Santa Barbara General Catalog - Management”>http://my.sa.ucsb.edu/catalog/Current/CollegesDepartments/ls-intro/Management.aspx

I’d go with econ. At UCSB if it’s an option.
