Hey guys, I’m in my second semester of senior year and the suspense is killing me. Some people tell me not to worry and others say worry, and I dont know what to think, so I decided to ask my CC family. I have a 3.72 weighted gpa and a SAT score of 1820 (Critical Reading and Math = 1260). My total eligibility index is 4236. I live in SDSU’s service area. Do I have any chance of getting in?
Depends on your major. I had similar stats to you and I got early admission for Economics. But I know people who had better stats than me that got denied from Psychology and Nursing. I’d say for 75% of majors, don’t worry. But if you’re going for a harder/ more popular major, it just depends on the other people going for the same major. Good luck.
I see, how about Computer Science?
Your EI looks within range. I think you have a good chance for CS. I am leaning towards SDSU if I do not get into SLO. I only submitted my ACT so my EI was 1056. Anything over 4100/1000 is competitive.
I think according to SDSU, you fall inside the range. If you’ve good ECs and decent essays, I think you’ll definitely get in.
Best of luck, mate.
@Digitallyshrewd CSU’s do not look at extracurriculars or essays. You are determined by GPA and standardized test scores, hence the eligibility index. The only CSU that awards you point for your outside activities is SLO, but even then it doesn’t impact your application as much.
@DefineGravity thats true, i disregarded his opinion. What do you think are my chances? I still havent got an acceptance letter.
