Sea Year News

Hi All,

Just thought I would share....

My daughter just completed and mailed in her Sea Project from Long Beach before heading back to Japan tonight.

She described her Sea Year experience as Outstandingly Awesome!!

8kidsmom

excellent, is she gonna post pics?

Pictures will be posted in about a month. Her computer is being repaired at KP so 400+ pics are on her camera waiting for her to get home and download them.

Kudos to your Mid for getting her project in. That has to be a load off her mind. Now she can sit back & enjoy the rest of her time at sea. I cannot wait to see some of the photos! Promise to post some! How much longer will she be out? Jamz just found out that he will be A split. He was wishing for that to avoid the NY winters. I wasn't because it means missing Xmas with us.... Oh well. Will have to get a huge card board cut out made of him and place it around the table for photo ops. :)

She returns the end of next month. One more trip to Japan, Portland and Long Beach -- then she heads to NY to get her computer, room assignment, uniforms and then home for the 2-3 days before school and varsity diving begin. Just enough time to get pictures, new running shoes, etc...

8kidsmom....Congrats...you must be both proud and greatly relieved.

Hope all is well 8kidsmom. Tell your daughter her cyber cheering section awaits those photos! Bet she has had the best time but must be exhausted by now. Tell her good luck with her diving!

Jamzmom,

Thanks for the best wishes. Her sea year experience has been great. She is on the last leg of her sea year. She arrives in Long Beach on 10/24 and heads back to USMMA on 10/25. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

She is home -- safe and sound. Pics up as soon as I can.

Congrats to your daughter 8kidsmom, what an awesome accomplishment to have out tof the way. Did her time at sea make her want to go to sea as a career? Waiting patiently for those pictures.

Jamzmom, I heard that Jamz is going to have a cardboard cutout of you, so he can get his photograph with it in all those exotic ports. Is that true?

8kids! YAY! She's back and ready to roll for this next tri-mester. Hope she's not too crazy trying to get settled back in. What an awesome trip she must have had. Can't wait to hear more about it. How much did she use the english/japanese dictionary? I'm thinking that would be a good Xmas gift this year.

Cougar! Sweet! I knew there was a way to get to all those places! What a photo album I will have. AND I can keep Jamz company along the way. Make sure he eats his peas and all that. It will be most useful! I won't make his rack up though. I can proof read the sea year project & everything! I'm small so the cut-out won't take up too much room. I'd fold easily into a duffle. I'll have to send him more money (again) so he can get a rush order on it! I can just see it. He'll take me into ports with him and with me along, no foreign girls will come near! :) I'm grinning at the imagination I have. Can you just picture a midn running around with his cardboard mommy? HA! HA! Too funny.

Jamzmom,

According to her -- a Japanese phrase book is a better choice.

Sailing is definitely in her future career plans.

Thanks beyond thanks! I can't believe the things I learn here. So glad to have this support! What a perfect stocking stuffer! Uh. That is if he gets the duty he wishes for.
