After the 10 minute reading period for my ap biology exam today, the test proctor told us to open the seal for our free-response packet where we would write our answers.. and I noticed that my seal was already broken. I didn't really know what to do and the writing time had already started, so I just wrote my essays and thought that maybe I had accidentally ripped my seal with my nail when I was opening the shrink wrap.

However, I talked to a few friends after the exam, and they told me that their seal was already broken too.

Really weird... any idea how this could have happened? And is it mandatory that I have to report this to the Collegeboard?

I’d report it just to be sure, maybe also include that others were ripped, too.

Everyone’s seals in my room were ripped too… why would you report that?

Mine too. I don’t see why it would matter. XD

They’re perforated, unlike the ACT packets, so it’s easier for them to rip. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Oh, if that’s what you were referring to, then it’s normal. I thought you had meant that they were ripped all the way.

They weren’t perforated, they were actually ripped all the way.

In that case I would contact the College Board, since there is no reason for them to be ripped all the way.

Mine were ripped as well.

lol don’t report it or you’ll get your scores canceled… For something that isn’t a big deal. Several people in my room had the same thing.

Mine was ripped too. I don’t think much of it.

Haha… okay I don’t think I’m gonna report it because I don’t want my scores canceled

Everyone at my school taking the bio exam today had ripped seals also. Weird! We also had a fire drill (middle school kids burnt the popcorn) during the test, which then caused others to be late taking their physics exam.

me too! I didn’t say anything though; the plastic wrap was well sealed before and there wasn’t anything odd about the actual form, so it was probably just a manufacturing error.

I took bio and mine wasn’t ripped, but my physics B one was. I was thinking I had gone crazy and broken the seal myself and then forgotten I had just done it. So maybe it was just a manufacturing error and I’m not crazy! Much.

This is kind of a serious matter, and in my opinion the best thing to do would be to tell CollegeBoard, because if they find out another way they may cancel your score/everyones score and ALSO have further consequence since people knew about it and did not inform them.

My AP Bio sealed was ripped too!! I just didn’t say anything, because the shrink wrap was completely sealed. Weird…

Most people in my AP Euro class on Friday had seals that were partially or entirely ripped. They were all in the sealed plastic and everything, though. I wonder if it’s actually unusually common this year or if just the people to whom it happened are posting here.

Wait, the only seals that show up on Physics/Euro/Bio are the plastic shrink-wrap and the stickers used to seal the MC booklets. The pink FR and green inserts don’t have any seals to them.

I haven’t taken euro but both physics and bio definitely have the pink FRs sealed. Bio’s green insert is not sealed and physics green insert is inside the pink one… But every pink fr packet for every AP I have taken has been sealed, or in the case of my physics test had a seal that was already broken.
