Is anyone applying to SEAP? If any of you guys have attended, is it good?
I just found out about it & I think I'm gonna try applying.

My friend did it last year. She said it was a really good experience, but she didn’t really love what she did. (She did some highly complicated and complex chemistry topic that I can’t remember.)

Thanks for your help! Anyone else?

I’m applying this year don’t have any lab experience at all…should I talk about labs that I’ve done in school for the research essay?

Yeah that would be your best bet
Which location(s) are you applying to?

I know someone who attended SEAP and is now at MIT. It was a good experience, I think!

Thanks for your input! :)

Does anyone know if any summer camp will send your essays to the recommenders? (particularly SEAP since I’m applying)

Thanks stylishsmartie!! And I don’t think SEAP sends your essays to your recommenders. But if you think it’ll help you get better letters of rec you can give them the essays yourself!

Submitted. Now for the wait. Just for input, which labs did everyone apply to? And which research interests?
Im hoping for Space and Naval in san diego or Naval Air in Pauxtent
me likes AI and robotics

Monterey!
Do you know when we’ll know if we got in or not?

I think in like a month or a month and a half. If you check last years posts kids were generally getting interviews around February or March.

Anybody recieved anything yet from SEAP. ANy interviews.

I received an email from them in late January and this is what it said:

Dear SEAP Applicant or Guardian,

Congratulations! Your SEAP application was complete and will now
move on to the next step in the process. Your application will
now be reviewed by the labs you selected.

You should be receiving notification via email on whether you
were selected or not by early March.

Good Luck!

THE SEAP TEAM

So expect a response towards the first few weeks of March…Good Luck!

I think that just went out to every applicant. I hear they contact via email potential candidates and ask for an interview

anyone hear anything back yet? I know its only feb. but I’m just curious if anyone has heard anything back yet other than the message saying the application has moved to the next step. I applied to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI. Anyone else apply there?

Hello, everyone! I just thought I would post to keep everyone’s spirits up. I’m from a rural Louisiana school, and have applied to the Navy Research Lab at Stennis Space Center. So far, I have been contacted by three researches, two of whom have interviewed me, while another interview is scheduled. The whole process is going well, so far. As someone from a generally disadvantaged area, I am very enthused about the entire situation!

I think things look bright, but I’m trying not to get my hopes up. I hope that everyone else is having luck, as well. I’ve been told that decisions roll out around the end of February, or the beginning of March. Good luck, everyone!

if it helps I emailed the lab personally this week and they said that they had received my application and were still reviewing it and that I should hear (once again) early march. Then I have a very small connection with someone at the lab and again asked what was going on because I am trying to decide if I should start to seek other options over the summer vacation and all she wrote was “don’t make any other decisions just yet”…fingers still crossed Ill keep you updated

yeah i got accepted to the NUWC in Newport, RI i received a email two days ago with a follow up email asking for more information and to fill out the forms and send them into D.C. anyone else?

Interview!
