Searching for a school in the Northeast

Im want to find a school to work towards. I will be attending USF St.Pete in 2010, but I would like to finish my education in a school in the northeast so I can more easily find my CPA job over there. Im looking for a school that has a strong business and math department and that meets my financial situation.

I have an EFC of 22,000 right now and the only reason I'm not attending a CC is because my grandparents gave me about 40 grand to go to college with, which I will be using for my first two years. I have a very bad relationship with my parents, bad enough to make them not contribute to my EFC at all, just a plane ticket out of their house. My high school grades are a poor 2.8 with an ACT of 29. I don't have ANY scholarships that I have received from my university because most of their schools are need-based for their COA of 18K. However I see my self improving by a lot since my addiction is cured. Im going to work nearly full time during the two years I am at USFSP so by the time Im ready to transfer I would have a bit more than 15K in my pocket to use for the rest of my tuition. I will continue working as a transfer to make the ends meet.

I wish to look for a school that is strong in the Accounting + Statistics department because those are my preferred majors. I also wish to have a school that gives generous Merit Aid for transfer students so I can get my education at a low cost. I wish to know the schools Im aiming for early so I can take the required classes for transferring and so that I have a goal of what my GPA is supposed to be so that I can get the scholarships and get in the school.

BUMP. Help please.

Double BUMP. I did some research on the US News and World Report and found that SUNY-Binghamton and SUNY-Buffalo are tier-1 institutions that have affordable COAs for OOS students. Are their accounting and math programs any good?

Bump 10 char

SUNY Binghamton is our top SUNY. If you are transferring in as a Sophomore they will look at your high school grades and you would have a hard time being admitted. SUNY Buffalo is not as highly ranked as Binghamton, but you might still have a tough time being admitted.

If you are transferring in as a Junior and your college grades are good then disregard the above.

Both schools are very good and I am sure you would find what you are looking for.

You might also consider Baruch.

Out of state tuition is $415 per credit hour - pretty affordable.
