Searching for Match Colleges

Hey guys!
I am a senior, and I still don't know where to apply. I have some colleges in mind, and I need help in choosing where to apply. Any ideas?
Here are my stats.

Weighted GPA: 3.8
SAT: 1840 (retaking in OCT, expecting a 2040 at least)
APs: Euro, APUSH, Ap Calc AB, APES, English
Taking AP gov, AP Eng, and Ap calc BC this year
I really don't have any awesome extracurriculars--haven't been really commited to anything, just dabbed around here and there.

Looking for colleges primarily in California, but keeping an open mind to those on the West and East coast.
I don't really like any of the UCs particularly, so maybe a private school or liberal arts.
I'm looking for a school that has a good humanities program; I enjoy English.
I would prefer a school where I can bike around.

Thanks!

Financial need?

Santa Clara
Chapman?

Can your family afford a private school? Do you qualify for financial aid?

Regarding private schools, many of them in CA are religiously affiliated… is that acceptable?

What is your unweighted GPA?

Well, my family is pretty middle class, and people richer around us qualify, so I’m pretty sure I qualify too. Yep, religiously affiliated is fine.
I don’t really have any financial need, parents willing to pay, though financial aid is always welcome haha.
I think my Unweighted GPA is around a 3.3.

How much are your parents willing to pay? Up to $60,000 a year? You really need to have this conversation with them before you start seriously searching schools. The worst thing is falling in love with a school, then realizing there’s just no way you can afford to attend.

Oh that’s awful. I just talked with my mother about it, she keeps telling me not to worry…, but I doubt we’re willing to pay 60,000 a year.

Sit down with your mother and show her the costs for some colleges on the internet. Many people aren’t even aware of what the price is now.

^^^^^^^^^Yes^^^^^^^^^^

…and use the Net Price Calculator to help do that.
