SEAS "core"

After browsing Columbia's websites... it seems to me that while SEAS students have some nontechnical requirements (as I think SEAS terms it), it is not as rigorous as Columbia College's core?

(Source: Center for Student Advising)

Hence, I guess SEAS has no foreign language requirement? : P
--- (I already fluently speak and semi-fluently write/read a foreign language, and just don't want the bother of having to test out of such a requirement.)

Thanks in advance!

Apply for the 4-1 Program (BS/BA) in your junior year. You will not regret it.

this is answered already on this site. use the search function or the helpful threads post.

no foreign language requirement

this is only one person’s opinion …personally i think the 4-1 and 3-2 programs are a waste of time…if you have an engineering degree you can do anything…if you have interests beyond engineering you have plenty of opportunities to cultivate them in SEAS

Is there any way to do the 4-1 in 4 years with enough AP credits?

Answer: Yes, if you take a summer class or two.
