SEAS Gender Inequity

I'm just curious. How come there are significantly less females accepted to SEAS than males?

It's probably because fewer women than men apply to SEAS.

In the United States (though perhaps not in Taiwan), fewer women than men seem to be interested in careers in engineering.

Girls generally have an easier time getting accepted to SEAS (or any engineering school, for that matter). Less are accepted because less apply -- but their acceptance rate is higher.

consider the women and the men in SEAS, CC, and Barnard. the female to male ratio is 2 to 1.
