SEAS vs CC

Why are we having a battle between CC and SEAS? You guys are all in the same school.

More often than legacy cases, I actually see professors' offspring (or near relatives) dragging down both the quality of discussion (via apathy moreso than lack of intellect...usually) and/or school spirit ("Of course I wanted to go to the University of Chicago, but they told me I had no choice because this was free"). Underanalyzed problem?

I say not. I don't think lack of intellect is an issue with these folk, as you say. There are plenty of apathetic people at Columbia -- people who worked hard in HS and don't want to work hard anymore, people who are smart enough to get away with being lazy, people who aren't true intellectuals but did all the right thing to get into Columbia, etc. I don't think the small subset of professorspawn is really a problem.

it hurts because it's true.

edit: and i also love the word "professorspawn". look, not ALL of them are cold-blooded reptiles, just most of them :)
