Season ending injury, Can I still be recruited?

Basically I had a season ending injury before I could hit my goals. I'm a 6 foot high jumper but i was confident I could atleast go over 6'2 by the end of the season and maybe even 6'4 too.. but then my injury happened before I had a chance. I believe I might still have a chance to be recruited at the NESCACs where high jump isn't exactly strong, but how do I approach my injury and short season when emailing a coach?

Oh yeah, and my GPA is pretty good and so are my extracurriculars but my SAT was only 1990. I'm practicing really hard for the ACT this fall but since my SAT is a little low for the NESCACs does this make it harder to get a coach's attention?

I really want a shot at being a recruit but I also want the coach to understand I could have done better without sounding full of myself.. Can someone offer advice as to how to handle this?

thank you

If your coach is willing to go to bat for you and let the college coach know that your current PR isn’t indicative of your ability, that would help.

But how do I know when to bring my coach into the picture? I don’t really want him to initiate the email, I want to show them I am the motivated interested one

What about sending an email with attachments such as a LOR from your coach and some sort of resume as well.

What year are you and what was the injury?

I’m a junior and I tored a tendon from my pelvis off but it took a big piece of bone with it it’s a pretty freak accident but i’ll recover perfectly fine
