Season Tickets

Are they worth it? I'm considering purchasing season tickets for the football season but the only game that stands out for me is the USC game. Any opinion would be much appreciated!

As long as you personally enjoy them, and you can sacrifice several Saturday afternoons, it’s worth it. Do you like football?

I had the season tickets for home games because of the freshman free ticket thing, but I ended up not enjoying the games; I felt like I wasted my whole Saturday afternoon when I could have done more homework :stuck_out_tongue:
But eh, it’s your choice.

I do like football but I’m just not sure I’ll have the time every (or seems like every) saturday to spend nearly the whole day watching the game + joining the festivities. What made you not enjoy them?

Although I went to football games with friends, I did not really have fun standing there the whole time. It may also be that I don’t fully understand the game and I would rather have preferred to spend my time doing some more worthwhile. I don’t mean to sound so negative, but it was rather bothersome when I had to get to the game early to beat the rush to get in, and then wait forever to get out of the stadium after the game…took a good chunk of my Saturday lol.

But that’s just me. I’m sure others may feel differently. lol!
The only game I liked was the Stanford one. :P

I liked going to the football games, but I saw the season and like you said, only USC sounds good (and Arizona wouldn’t be that bad either since we lost to them last year). My friend told me there would be more night/afternoon games this year, which are much better than the morning ones last year. (Tailgating, FB game, grab a bite, maybe hit up whatever parties I hear about). Not the biggest football fan, but it’s a fun experience. You get to see though that as the season goes on, less students attend unless it’s the bigger games. lol I missed two games last season–one I just didnt feel like getting up and the second was raining heh

do you guys find that it takes too much time away from your studies? I mean it sounds like its an all-day festivity.

I think they’re a lot of fun. Especially if you go with a group of friends. It can be an all day festivity if you tailgate and whatnot. If you just go to the game it’s only a few hours.

I’ve gone to some games in my lifetime and I have always wanted to be in the student section raising the cards in the formation and yelling my head off. And now I will be in the student section!)

Dang you kittens are coming in hardcore. It’s a Saturday and like jb said, it’s only about 3-4 hours (media time outs and losing team time outs and changing teams…you realize how little the game is actually being played after a few lmao hell i remember reading this past year that there’s only like 12-15 minutes of players running hard hahah) You’re not gonna fail all your classes because you spent a few Saturdays at the games. Of course, if it’s midterm season, you need to be more considerate, but otherwise…eh.
Plus there’s nothing like playing dodgecards during halftime. heh

How much is the Stanford game? When/where do we buy the tickets?

^That.

(10chars)

Stanford game is away this year. So unless you’re planning on going on a trip, which is not as close as everyone thinks, you could probably check out the sports/tickets websites for both Berk and Stanford

Are individual game tickets for free for grad students? Or do we pay the same as everyone else?

College football games do take up a whole Saturday, which is an integral part of the university experience. Nothing beats having the whole school come together as one to root for their school.

haha i doubt they’re free sanzen. the last thing they want to do is lose money. they’re not even giving freshmen free tickets this year

Is it still worth purchasing season tickets if you only attend 3-4 games? I would really like to join in on the fun, haha.

lol you might need to check how much individual prices are and then compare. it really is a fun experience, especially since the student section is located in a pretty good area and you can get as close as you want (if you get there early/cut in line hehe)

are there assigned seating or first-come-first-serve?

Do a lot of cal students still go to see the big game when it is away?

Batman17, bad assumption on my part. my old college had free individual game tickets to students for all games, first come first serve. I figured it was a standard.

seating is fcfs. and i don’t know how many kids go see the big game away.
there’s probably only a limited number of seats for btown fans specifically, just like there was a limited number of seats for stanford fans. but you could probably buy general admin tix too…
sanzen: well berkeley had that but for freshmen/transfer students only (and my friend goes to ucla said it was a similar situation there). where did you go before? that sounds like a pretty awesome deal haha
