Seattle to Sarasota?

Hello!

I live in the Seattle area and am considering New College. I feel like it would be a great fit for me academically and socially, and its affordability is definitely a plus.
Is there anyone on here who hails from the Pacific Northwest who could speak to the move and adjustment to Florida? What is different? What surprised you? Has it taken a lot of getting used to?

Thanks!

Question - affordability? I believe it costs over 30,000 a year for out of state.

Affordability is relative. Within the last month New College of Florida has been ranked the #3 “Best Value Public College in America” for 2012 by The Princeton Review, and #5 in the annual list of the 100 best values in public colleges published by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.

Many of the other colleges I am looking at, colleges comparable to New College, are closer to 50k, so yes, it’s a relative affordability.

actually, its only around $26,000- $27,000 for out of staters. VERY affordable.

My sister attends NCF (we live 40 minutes down the way…) but one of her acquaintances is from Seattle.

I’d be more than happy to send you a facebook link for her profile so you can ask her some questions. she’s transitioned very well and REALLY loves florida.
