My parents are making me apply in-state. I was told I didn't have to until after I had already missed the first admissions deadline (and the deadline for UF). So my question, how much harder is it to get in with the second admissions deadline? I'm top 5% of my class, which is usually admitted to FSU, but everyone I know who has ever applied did first deadline, so I really don't know how the chances are. Thanks.

We were told when visiting FSU last spring that the problem is not with the qualifications of kids who apply for the second admissions date but simply whether the university will have enough state funding to accommodate them. Admissions reps strongly, strongly urged my son to apply by the first deadline if he really wants to go to FSU, which he did. I am sure folks living in Florida have more info on this. I know I was in the state last week and noticed the news stories about tuition rising and I don't know how this would affect the situation.
