Hey. It's me. I'm back. Im sure some of you may recognize me from the infamous draft message board. Anyway I'm back to ask for a second time my chances to NYU CAS RD 06. I really really really want to go to nyu bc it has my major, its near family and other stuff lol! My SAT's are 2000(1330) 680CR 650M 670W. SAT II's: MIC:650 USH:710. MY uw gpa according to my 5 core classes is actually a 3.73 instead of a 3.70 like I previously thought (UW). My EC's I thought were ok until I saw the fierce competition on this website. Everything else I thought was ok. So any takers....

Oh yeah, Im puerto rican and in fl!

Cmon CCers! 39 views and no response! This calls for a major BUMP!

any ecs?? With solid ecs, I'd say you have a 90% chance of acceptance.

Well my EC's, unfortunately, arent that solid. I mean I thought they wre ok. I put down stuff like Key Club, SADD, Hospital volunteer, mu alpha theta nhs and who's who. I only had about three leaderships/positions: Troop librarian and junior troop guid in Boy Scouts and tutor in mu.

Any other opinions?

cmon lets bump this place!

You should approach NYU as a minority-the Jackie Robinson Scholarship is open to you.
Good luck to you.

Bumpppppppppppppppppppppppp!

btw i applied econ in cas

You are in 100% in my opinion. Why you want NYU is besides me (worst college experience I can personally imagine - no campus feeling), but you are in for sure.

Did you call and find out what went wrong the first time? NYU does get many highly qualified hispanic apps, but you looked in range. Call and ask.

Actually maybe Suze is right...a 1330 URM with a 3.7 is pretty strong for NYU

slipper - I'm tired of your NYU bashing, My S loves his college experience at NYU (it's not perfect but is there a perfect school anywhere?). He and his girlfriend came home for a few days for Spring break and she brought some of the best cupcakes that I have ever eaten from a Greenvich Village neighborhood bakery. she's from a CA public HS that had all of that sis boom rah-rah spirit and wasn't looking for that in a college. She likes NYU also. Believe it or not, there are students out there who are not looking for a climate like UNC or Michigan and don't need that traditional campus feel to be happy.
