Second degree

Dear all,

I'm a current undergrad at a top-10 business school in Europe and because the government is basically paying for my education I will probably have a debt of 2,000€ (+- 1,500$). Anyway I'm thinking about pursuing another degree (probably criminal justice, government, security or IR) at a U.S. institution; first of all because I would like to work in the U.S. after graduating and also because I would love to experience the U.S. college culture. I like the fact that there is more interaction between classroom and professor and the level of competition. Basically, I'm getting tired of studying in a culture where the norm is to be average.

I know that studying in the U.S. is really expensive and although my parents are able to pay a large sum of money, I am of course looking for sources of financial aid as well.

I would just like to hear your opinions on this because I know it's kind of ridiculous to get another degree, certainly when I can get one a lot cheaper here in Europe. I'd also like to hear which colleges you would recommend for the above mentioned majors.

Thanks in advance.

See if you can ease into a Master’s degree in one of those subjects. You may have to take a few remedial / prereq classes, but your degree will actually be furthering your career.

You also should find out if your university has any exchange programs that would allow you to study for a semester or a year in the US.

I completely agree with GeekMom63. Although master’s programs will not have that “undergraduate college feel,” it’ll be a great experience outside of Europe and like GeekMom63 said, it will help advance your career.
