A will be compiling a list of
applicants to be seen at our March ___ 201__ session. A will be joining us to interview
some students and facilitate the discussion after lunch. A second interview often makes
a difference.

There will be teams of two interviewers who will interview one or two applicants
for twenty minutes. At the same time A will be having ten-minute
interviews with selected students. After the interviews have been completed,
each team will write a brief report on their applicant. We will then have lunch
and discuss the students seen earlier. A will give us some insights on the
individual applicants. Please contact Committee Chair if you have any questions.

Dara was very pleasant and chose to meet a few out of the 25 students (I was one of them) for no more than 5 minutes each. I then had a second interview with an alumnus. It followed the same format as my first interview and lasted roughly 45 minutes. They were abnormally hospitable-- they invited parents and friends to come with me and wait in a larger room while interviews were being conducted. The stress in that larger room was enormous; many parents (and students) were freaking out. What I found strange was that many interviewers brought in home-baked goods (cookies, cakes, etc) and they had large coffee pots brewing. There was no mention of an “expect good news in a couple weeks” or anything like that. I still can’t figure out why they wanted us to come in.
