Can I choose a 1st major, and put undeclared for 2nd major? or is it better to put something for 2nd major?
If i put something other than undeclared for 2nd major, I’m gonna have to write one more essay so…

If I understand correctly, you’re applying to UIUC and you’re trying to maximize your chances without putting in excessive effort. If you’re interested in multiple schools (and thus several majors), write the essay.
Process of evaluation if you select a first and second choice major is that you will be evaluated for first choice, and if rejected, evaluated for second choice, and if rejected for that choice, evaluated as undecided for entry into Division of General Studies. In other words, if you have a second choice major use it because you will still be considered fior entry into DGS as an undecided if you do list a second major and are rejected. If you have no second choice major then you can make DGS your second choice. Be aware of the Catch-22. Do not leave the second choice major blank, That will be construed as declaring that you want to be considered only for your first choice major and if rejected for that you are done.
