What is a good option #2 to Computer Science…the application suggests Liberal Arts or something? Is it Tandon School?
I think that you need to be more specific in your question.
If your child wants to study computer science, then applying for computer science to other universities makes a lot more sense compared to looking for an alternate major at NYU. There are a lot of universities with very strong computer science programs, including quite a few that are less expensive than NYU.
Thanks @DadTwoGirls …He was also looking at FInance but Stern is not a second option it seems!
Stern is highly competitive, they don’t want to be anyone’s second choice!
If you mean liberal studies (I don’t think there is a “liberal arts”?), that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me for someone interested in computer science. You can probably get there for the last two years if you take the right electives, but the program doesn’t sound at all of interest to a CS or business focus tbh - I think it’s much more aimed at humanities and social sciences students.

Is your student applying within CAS or Tandon, why not put one as first choice and the other as second? I’m no expert but I understand computer science is offered in both?
