Second thoughts about Stanford

Yes, Zeller, where are you from? What's your school? That makes a big difference...

I'm from Nebraska, so the school I'm talking about is the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. It does have an honors program. I'm still undecided about majors, so I can't pick a school based on that.

Hey Zeller, where do you go to school?

Stanford will be amazing in so many ways that go beyond getting into grad school. Can you study your butt off at Nebraska, graduate at the TOP of your class, and still get into a top grad school? Sure. But Stanford will open many other kinds of doors. I would go.

wait a minute... u were accepted into UNL's honors program as well as Stanford? strangest thing... that was exactly what happened to me too.
if u're gonna major in journalism, then maybe UNL might be a good idea (UNL is known for having one of the best journalism departments in the nation, so i'm told), but otherwise, i wouldn't really consider UNL. UNL is a good school, but to pick it over Stanford... i dunno about that. the honors program scholarship at UNL only covers the textbooks, right? or did u get the legacy scholarship?
did u get ur award letter from stanford yet?

UNL honors program scholarship does only cover textbooks, but I would receive full tution plus a stipend because I'm a national merit finalist, and I would receive another award worth 3k as well.

I have received my Stanford financial aid letter, and as I assumed we aren't receiving any aid. (My parents are both older and they have been saving well for retirement and I think that counted against us.) I think I will be going to Stanford, since we have decided that we can make the finances work.
