Second Thread!

Alright! Second Thread!

oh yeah. i'm a little afraid of getting my head chomped off, but what the hell.

has anyone gotten dorm assignments yet? know when?

i think that they come in early august if you submitted your application by may 1st, and mid-august if you send it in between may 1st and july 1st.

don't worry, we're not all cannibals =)

Sent in the housing forms already.....but there wasn't that much info on the forms....what were your impressions of the different dorms?

I get the feeling that Pierce is one of the most social dorms in that every house is very closeknit. Max Palevsky seems to be slightly less so, from what I've heard. Both times that I visited, I stayed in Pierce. But from visiting Max P, it also seems like a great place where most of the first years end up. Those two dorms and Snell-Hitchcock as well, are ridiculously close to the quads. Max P and Pierce are also really close to the Ratner Athletics Center, which has the coolest pool ever! And I've just about regurgitated everything I know about the UChicago dorms. Oh, about dining halls: Bartlet has better food, but it's a la carte. Pierce's dining hall is all you can eat, so there's a bit of a trade off there. Ok now I'm really done.

Which dinning hall does Broadview use? Anybody? Thanks.

I think all of the dorms use Bartlett except for Pierce and Burton-Judson, which have their own.

No all you can eat?? Ahhhhh, nooooooo

Oh well, Bartlett supposedly looks like the Great Hall of Harry Potter fame...but yeah, they seem to say that about all college dining places :p

Incorrect.

Max, Snell-Hitchcock, Blackstone, and Stony Island use Barlett.

Pierce, MacLean, Broadview, and the bottom six houses of Shoreland use Pierce.

BJ, Breckenridge, and the top four houses in Shoreland use BJ.

ooops sorry, my bad
