Hi, Does anyone know if the second wave of decisions have been mailed out, or when they will be mailed out? Thanks!

I hope soon lol because I’m tired of waiting =p

i hope so, too :

MConklin? Any word on the 2nd wave?

I believe they have a policy of not saying. My daughter called after she got in - because the letter was a surprise - and the person who answered told her they don’t tell because it keeps people from bugging them.

^ I remember that last year they said it was 7-10 days after the first wave, but I still want a definitive answer from MConklin.

if it is 7-10 days after, that means we only have a few more days to go :]

The next wave should be sent early to mid next-week.

Thanks MConklin!

I just found out that a handful of people from my school got in, but I haven’t heard yet and got worried, until I heard something of this waves system. Can someone explain this to me? I’m a little confused as to when I should be hearing back…

Thanks!

also, will the 2nd wave be eligible for any scholarships or did all of those go out with the
1st wave
(not the ones that require interviews… other merit ones)

Do we get an e-mail first or must we receive it through mail?
(because I’m an international applicant, and it usually takes about a little more than a month for us to receive mail from abroad.)

Shushi - as far as I know (since we were up in Rochester for REMS’ weekend last week with my D. The admission people said that they will email acceptance letter to all international applicants due to the distance and the rest of applicants within the US will receive snail mail.

ahh, this is my birthday week, too. sahciaiuajieajeaueffnmj D: :o

@MConklin I live outside the U.S (Chile, to be exact), where I get postal mails ages later. Can I be notified of my decision by calling the admission office sometime later this week?

Jamiecago- I would call the office to speak with the Counselor responsible for application review in Chile. If you call the main line the person answering the phone will be able to connect you to him.

also… not all scholarship recipients have been notified. As I mentioned on another post, scholarship letters are sent in waves that correspond with decision letters. There is no formula that helps to determine whose letter gets sent when - much of it has to do with how far along we are in our review process, and is done to avoid overwhelming mail services.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. I’ll try to call this friday!

MConklin, so should the international students just call the admission office if they want to be notified of their decision?

the mail does take ages

I realize I didn’t answer Jamiecago’s original question. To provide some clarification… Letters are sent to international students via Fed Ex. The goal is to have these letters delivered in as timely a fashion as is possible. If you have specific questions or are concerned about the timing of your decision because of unusual circumstances, I recommend calling the admissions office to speak with your territory representative.

Oh, okay. Thank you so much!
