I have my first two years of housing prepaid but I was wondering what percentage of second year students actually come back to live in dorms..Are there quite a few or hardly any?

I'm going to be a junior and I'm still gonna live in a dorm. I think most people move out, but there quite a few that do come back. I just think living in a dorm is less of a hassle.

It really depends on the school.

I and most other sophomores at my school will be living in the dorms next year, but it really varies by college.

It depends.

I suppose if your college is in the middle of nowhere (like mine is) you don't have a choice except to live in the dorm.

If a college is in a major city, I'd assume most students would reside off campus if given the opportunity.

As for myself, I'd choose whichever were cheaper.

At my school most kids live on campus 3 years and move off for 1 year, either as a junior or senior.

I think I'll probably live on-campus second year and move off-campus 3rd year.

We have to live on campus for the first two years at my school. Personally i'll stay on campus until i graduate.

off-campus living is easily the most overrated thing in college

i guess that depends where you go to school...

I'm staying on-campus as a junior just because I don't want to pay rent yet.
I'd rather put it all on a loan and worry about it later.

It really, really depends. Sometimes off-campus housing is actually cheaper than on-campus housing, in which case you'd expect to see a lot of people living off-campus. But if a school is located in a high cost-of-living area, there will be a lot more people living in on-campus housing.

I'm a rising sophomore and will be living in campus housing next year because living in a dorm is much, much cheaper than trying to find a decent apartment at reasonable cost in the surrounding neighborhood and city.

i'm living on campus next year (as a sophomore), but my dorm is a huge upgrade from last year's. i'll probably move off campus junior year, as do most people at my school (although my boyfriend isn't because he & his roommate didn't get their his s--t together in time..).

living on campus is nice because it's really convenient and you live close to your friends :)

I'm living on-campus for my sophomore year, and just like leah377 the dorm is a huge upgrade. Most of the people I know are living on-campus, but come junior year that might all change.

I lived on campus for 2 years, but here, many people never live on campus at all. Most of the time, if they do, it's just for 1 year. I liked the dorms because they were convenient to everything, but they're so restrictive. Boys out by midnight, no alcohol whatsoever (even for people who are 21+), etc. I really liked living in my quiet apartment last year, and this fall, I'll be in a studio by myself and it's going to be awesommmmmmme.

I always found it weird when people say their dorms had a lot of rules. The dorm I was in had almost no rules. Of course the school says there are rules, but they're never enforced.

I'm a second year and am going to live off campus. The dorms very very convenient, but there were too many restrictions with me, and my apartment is cheaper.

Im a senior living in dorms, more pussy for me son
