secondary school report URGENT!

Does the UF accept secondary school reports like many other schools. If so where is the form. Also if I don't turn in teacher recommendations am I at a disadvantage.

If by "secondary school reports" you mean transcripts then yes, they require them. You send them through your guidance department.

As for the teacher recommendations, they aren't even accepting them this year so don't worry.

Does UF require a counselor recommendation like UM.

no recs required

Are you sure they aren't taking teacher recommendations? I haven't seen anything about that. UF doesn't require them this year, but they don't reject them if they are sent.

There was a large group of counselors that went to a meeting in which UF expressly stated that they did NOT want any recs.

wow makes it easier on us

where did you get that information? My counselor goes to all the state college and UF meetings, and would have heard this. My school sends all of their counselors to all the state college meetings, including UF. I highly doubt that they said they would look down on any application that sends a recommendation. I can understand though if they don't require them anymore. Not only that, but if UF really didn't want any recs in the mail, they would explicitly say so on their website that they should not be sent. BTW, I am so confident that I already sent my transcript request with my two rec letters.

I e-mailed UF and asked them if we could send in recommendation letters. Here's what they said:

"Letters of recommendation are not required and are purely optional. If you choose to send letters, you should limit them to two -- one academic and one non-academic -- making sure that the letters tell us something that we have not already determined from your transcript or application."

Thank you for clearing this up. However, my school requires me to waive my right to see the recommendation, so how will I know if the letters say something special? I have three and my guidance counselor said she would pick "the two best." Two are academic and the third is non-academic. I am sure she knows what she is doing though. Because this isn't clearly stated anywhere, they couldn't hurt a student's application for this anyway.
