DS2 has to come up with two gifts for a girl at school next week - one for about $5 and one for $20. His only idea: gum. Can anyone suggest anything (almost anything would be better than gum!) She is probably 15-16 years old. DS2 knows nothing about her.

Nail polish for the $5 present…lots of fun options.

Great idea! Thanks!

Go to Target or Bath & Bodyworks. Girls that age love the different flavored chapsticks - including burts bees, nail polish, small hand lotions and even the scented hand washes at Target. At Bed, Bath & Beyond they have everything under the sun, including, soaps, lotions, but also cool slip preventing socks and little doo dads by the register.

I could buy for teen girls all night and day - easiest thing in the world, it’s the teen boys that stump me.

My d just received this in a secret santa swap

[Amazon.com: Intelex Hooty Microwaveable Plush, Turquoise: Health & Personal Care](http://www.amazon.com/Intelex-Hooty-Microwaveable-Plush-Turquoise/dp/B0089C4PE8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386974736&sr=8-1&keywords=hooty+owl)

She loves it and it was the " hot " gift. She has ordered more for her friends. I think it is also available at TJ max.

Anything from Burt’s Bees. Can easily find something in $20 range. Think they have a 6 pack of lip balm for around that price. My D just bought her secret santa a pair of those knitted slipper/socks with the pom poms. Adorable. All the department stores and Target sell them.

Gum would be a hit w/my D :). For 20.00 gift consider an inexpensive bottle of polish and a gift card for a manicure. Our local salons offer specials for 15-20 for manicure only.

How about fleece pajama pants from old navy? Or fleece gloves or a fleece scarf?

The lip gloss collections of 4 etc are hot.

Chocolate(s). Scented foaming bath salts. For the $20, a gift card to Sephora? (Make-up heaven…)

WHen I was a teen girl I would have loved a gift certificate for a book store, and hated lip gloss. But I am not a girly-girl. :)

Gloves that you can text with. You can always use another pair of gloves.

Bath and body works, the pocket bacs are great, I love their fuzzy socks, wear them all the time. Burt’s Bees shimmer lip glosses.

TJ Maxx also has scented bath products and they had some cute philosophy sets in your price range.

I got my D an origami a day calendar. It is so cute, it has cute paper and instructions to make another origami animal every day. Any cute paper products, note cards, note paper, cute colored pens.

Sephora has an assortments of gifts in the check out lane, tons of stuff around $20. (I am sure I am a 16 yo girl, trapped in this old lady body lol!)

Secret Santa for girls, I could think of stuff all days. My 25 yo S, I’m stumped.

Inexpensive gloves with the touchscreen fingertips was the big hit at my daughter’s soccer team party.

For the $20 secret santa - a pretty scarf.

For the $5 gift - a pair of the soft fuzzy socks.

gel pens in different collars. GC to local coffee shop. nail polish. lip gloss. cool post it notes.

ITunes or Starbucks gift card.

Old Navy fuzzy socks for the $5 gift.

Ds2 got the new Beyonc

Thank you all for the great suggestions! This will be easier than I thought.

I am still laughing at the gum!!! That ranks as a duh moment for a guy. Thank God Mom came to the rescue.

My D always loves chocolate–See’s, Godiva or other luxury brand. Those are always a hot item for the secret Santas we participate in. Plush lap blankets can be purchased for $30 or less and ok for either gender. Got 5 at Ross for $8 each. Costco had a nice bunch of stuff in the Rx department 15 nail polish for $15-20, as well as other nice things. Great return policy there too.

My children love those plush throws as well, but put them through a wash and dry cycle before gifting them. Some of the inexpensive ones shed so bad that they are unusable. Most of them resolve after a few washes and dries, but I have thrown a few away that just continued to shed to the point that I was shocked there was any blanket left!
