How is the security at Trinity? Heard it can be quite dangerous and that many students get mugged. Also heard that a girl was stabbed this year. I know that the area of Hartford where Trinity is located is not great, but is the security really that bad? Should it be an issue of concern?

The area is certainly not the safest place but with a few precautions (that you would probably need to take in any major big city) you should be okay. Like you should not venture out alone at night. The campus itself is pretty safe i think and should not pose much of a concern.

but this is only based on what i've read and heard!

yah what aaron said is tru.......i heard that college has increased security now.....so no prob........but precaution shud be there. why does trinity allow anyone to enter in the campus.........they shid have some restrictions....

Rich Trinity alumns need to buy up some of that rundown stuff around the campus. With enough resources, that area can be easily gentrified. Hartford needs to bring back the middle class. Trinity's profile will rise swiftly with an improved neighborhood.

I'm a current fresh at trin... security... interesting question... to begin with, i dont feel unsafe on campus. the school has been trying to beef up security this year after a few run-ins but overall it really isnt that bad, you just have to be smart. Lets not sugar coat it, trinity is in the ghetto of hartford so you need to use common sense and be careful. this is a city, there is going to be crime as in any other city, and trin just happens to be surrounded by a very poor neighborhood that is not exactly extremely safe -- you dont walk off campus alone, esp if you are female (as i am). If you have a car, you dont leave expensive items in your car if is unlocked (as some people did here earlier in the year and had stuff stolen). if you live on the first floor of a dorm and can crawl in and out of your window, dont leave it open for the world to use if you arent there for long periods of time. use care when walking at night, go with friends, call campus safety if you need help or a ride. it really is all about the common sense that accompanies living in a city.

u r rite Bantam09. All Trinity ppl. lets be careful and cautious.
