I am a freshman at sty john’s university and want to transfer after one semester to a cuny due to financial issues. I have applied with cuny and sent my fee, hs transcript and current class in progress college transcript and was wondering will they consider my application seriously because I’m a freshmen trying to transfer after one semester or will they treat just like a normal application and take it seriously and give me a decision. I was accepted before to the cuny schools as freshmen but didn’t accept admission. I also would like to know since I don’t have any grades yet at my college will the decision be based on my high school transcript and the college transcript is just for evaluation of transferring the credits?
and these are the classes im taking at st johns
intro to sociology
intro to drawing
intro to theology
English
history

Should i send them my hs recomendations and a essay about why i need to transfer to a cuny schools?

someone please help me

I transferred from SJU after one semester as well. They will look at your progress report grades after your mid terms and then your high school grades will play a large part. If you got in then you should be fine as long as you don’t bomb this semester. You have to send them your HS transcripts and stuff, but in your app essay maybe explain why you are transferring.

there was no application essay should i write one and send it to the cuny/uapc the essay and reccomendation letters? and what school accepted you? i applied to queens hunter york and city tech i was accepted york and city tech for freshmen year but denied admission and went to sju

Why don’t you call the admissions office at one of the CUNYs that accepted you last spring, and discuss your situation with them in person. You are not the first person to need to transfer because of cost and they will be able to advise you on any specific steps you need to take.

Good luck at CUNY! What a great school!

anymore advice?please
