So I was just accepted as a transfer into ILR for Spring. Currently I'm a sophomore at UCLA and am maintaining just shy of a 3.9. My question is essentially how much of an advanatage does Cornell have over law school admissions, especially at the prestigious ivies. If I do similarly or just shy of my performance at UCLA so far, will I be far better off? I know that an Ivy leaguer is an Ivy leaguer, but I also know that UCLA has pretty outstanding national prestige also. Any advice?

Your GPA at UCLA is good and will really help you in law school admissions if you keep it that way. If adjustment is a problem for you, stay in LA. I personally know three or four people at Harvard Law who went to college at UCLA so I don't think Cornell will give you that much more of an advantage. From what I know, UCLA is a feeder college to the Ivy law schools.

but, if there are two guys with otherwise similar stats, the one w/ the cornell degree looks better right? at least on paper?

Since UCLA is twice as big, it looks like the average applicant would have twice the chance if he is from Cornell.
