<p>I don't want to hijack someone else's thread on another subject so I decided to start a new one on RSMAS.Do some students apply directly,or do they sign up after they get to UM?I'm wondering if there is a spectrum of what students plan to do with their degree-research, teaching, business government service etc.- or do most students plan to do research? There seem to be some business opportunities possible. My son is doing an internship for a company that produces and installs large sophisticated salt water aquariums. They grow their own coral and then install it. Do many students take advantage of the study abroad? Thanks in advance.</p>
