Seeking insight regarding Law School

I just graduated High school with a 4.1 GPA and will be attending San Diego State University in the fall, majoring in International Business w/ emphasis in Spanish and Latin America. I was accepted early and enrolled in the University Honors Program.

I am planing on attending law school after I graduate in 2013, but am unsure if my major is acceptable (should I switch to Political Science? or am I o.k.? ) . Also, what are my chances of being accepted into U. of Chicago Law or Columbia Law after San Diego State if I excel academically in Honors and have a some-what diverse background? (I am half Russian and Half Mexican, speak, read, and write in Spanish. Jewish) <--- I heard this helps...

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! =]

They don’t care what you major in, as long as you don’t major in “pre-law” or something like that. Your major will be fine. It’s impossible to tell what your chances are now, but get a high GPA and high LSAT scores and you’ll be fine.

Thank you for the help!

So the fact that San Diego State is not a prestigious university shouldn’t jeopardize the likelihood of being accepted?

Someone with the same GPA and LSAT from a more prestigious school would probably get in over you, but for the most part, it won’t matter that much.
