Are there any current FU students out there (especially current freshmen) who could advise incoming freshmen candidly on the comparative social life, cultural atmosphere, conveniences, headaches, and overall quality of life for each of the freshmen dorms (Queen's Court, Tierney Hall, Alumni Court North and South, and Hughes Hall)? Are there students with particular interests who tend to steer towards a certain freshman dorm? Are there particular events or programs associated with any of these dorms?

Queen's Court kids are generalized as the quirkiest of the freshmen class. They are studious and tend to become the leaders on campus. It's a small dorm and everyone knows eachother, which can be good and bad. It's a residential college (a lot of planned programs in the city, etc--totally optional).

Tierney is not solely a freshmen dorm, but it's supposed to be of the same caliber as Queen's Court, though less intense. It's in a weird location on campus, away from everyone/everything. It's a residential college but not really in the same sense as QC.

Alumni North & South don't really have generalizations, besides the fact that Alumni South is dubbed 'the dirty south' , take that as you may. They're the people who didn't want to live in a quad (Hughes) and didn't want to live in a residential college. In general, everyone seems pretty laidback. I don't think there are any distinctions between the two, necessarily, besides the fact that the Science Wing is in South.

Hughes Hall are stereotyped the worst on campus, as the ones tampering in sex, drugs, alcohol. The "craziest" ones. There are four people to a room so it kind of seems like people in this dorm are only friends with people in this dorm (though that can be argued with all the dorms). A lot of people end up here if they don't turn in their housing information on time.

If I get accepted off the waitlist and choose to attend Fordham, will I immediately be stuck with a not-so-desirable dorm (I don't think I could ever live in somewhere like Hughes Hall in a room of four people, three people might even be pushing it)?

Maybe the Fordham Rep could help answer my last question? It'd be somewhat of a deciding factor if I got off the waitlist...
