<p>My S was on a Div 3 team at Pomona last year, it can be time consumming as well but is a lot of fun. You need to set limits however as some teams will practice 7 days per week and at 10 miles a day that can lead to serious injuries. The student has to listen to their bodies which can be hard to do when caught up in the excitement and wins.</p>
