Seems EVERYONE got into FSU

i'm starting to think this is a glitch :/

My friend did not get the deposit message, so not everyone. And she did not meet the requirements..

idk I hope we got in!

Yeah I’m beginning to think the same.

I think the people who use College Confidential are highly motivated over-achievers so most of them will be admitted. With 10,000 applicants and only 6,200 spots, there are definitely students that are not going to be happy at midnight.

They will not fill all 6200 slots at this time.

I told a few people at my school about this trick, and some of them don’t have the fee notice. This leads me to believe that it is reliable

Except me…

CrisCarlson - make sure you send in first semester senior grades that are excellent. You have very good test scores but your GPA is a bit low and it sounded like you said your essay was uninspired. Speak to admissions and send in additional recommendations and information to sway them to change you from deferred to accepted.

Some of the instate students that were accepted with marginal scores/GPA were first generation/low income or had a passionate holistic application and recommendations.

Cris,

Don’t give up. View this as an opportunity to get in. Some kids were denied admission. I think the key is to let FSU know how much you want to go there. If it is your first choice, the best way to communicate this to them is to establish contact with someone in admssions, and send additional info to that person. As cybermom said, I would send in your grades from the first marking period. Even though FSU won’t count grades toward the GPA untill half way through the year, it will signal to them that you are doing well and intent on becoming a Nole!

I would also think about writing a brief letter via email to whomever you establish contact with in admissions expressing why you think FSU is a perfect fit for you. The admissions department will nvere say send in more information, but the reality is, the more you send in the better your chances.

For now, the next two weeks or so will be a small lull for the admissions department as they take a break before focusing on round two. Take advantage of this lull and get in touch with someone in admissions who you can establish email contact with. I really think this can help to have someone “looking out for you” on the inside.

Good Luck and I think you have a good shot, especially with that academic profile of yours.

Cris:
My best friend in the world attended great private schools and had solid grades and test scores only to be denied by FSU. She actually moved to Tally and attended TCC for a few semesters and after showing what a motivated student she was - they accepted her. After completing her undergrad at FSU, she went on to earn her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from FSU and is now a successful administrator in Michigan.

My point is you can be brilliant and your scores might not show it at first. Sometimes taking a few community college courses can show the University that you mean business and are ready for college. If you love Tally and really want to attend FSU - I would suggest attending TCC or maybe your local community college for a semester or two and try again (failing cybermom’s recommendations which might work sooner than that…).

Good luck and know we’re all pulling for you!
