Seems that colleges are enrolling more Black Immigrants than Black Americans

Exactly!!! or the best way to change the inequibility of the public school system so that AA is no longer needed.

mr.tubbz: good post. its what i've been trying to say. but some of these post made me so mad that...well you know what happens when someone makes you mad enough. but congratulations for your good temper and ability to handle everything that was said so calmly.

Wowserz I had to pray before I posted especially after reading the first 3 pages.....

mr.tubbz maybe i should have prayed. i have a tendency to just get super mad and this just put me over the top. i prayed about it though and calmed down and even called a truce, but some people are still rude but i guess there isn't anything i can do about it.

That post be Kerishana or wuteva the name is *ed *ed me off too..lol

mr.tubbz yeah that post is basically what did it for me. i couldn't take it but unlike you i snap really easily and it just made me say things i wouldn't normally say. it was awful and i forgot to be a christian and just said alot of things back. i know it was wrong after reading how calmly you handled it congrats on being smart enough to pray first.

i do feel bad now wowzer. I guess I got a little heated too. In response to your question, no I applied RD and if you do really want to go to Cornell with all your heart and can think of no other place you'd rather be and are sure and confident that you will have or will get enough money to attend, then you should apply ED. Because if you get rejected that most likely means they didn't want you anyway and you won't waste time finding out. If you get in then you'll be happy

Seriously, those public schools are horrible. You can graduate reading at a sixth grade level, without basic math skills. I'd wager that most students do. What can be done? Let's create something similar to the Nation(but not as sucky and much larger) and start our own schools; form our own local sports leagues and clubs, and businesses; and finally show the latent vim and vigor characteristic of our elders. A not so silent cultural revolution is in order.^^

But whenever I speak about things like that, I'm told that it's racist. Is focusing on helping our own people racist. More important, should we care?

you should probably pm the girl and apologize

alchemy: i thought about our own schools thing to. we have colleges for blacks all the hbcu's but we don't have high schools. these colleges are great. if we had high schools then maybe they'd be good to. I think starting something like the nation is a good idea. Really there is nothing wrong with starting our own clubs, there are still some clubs where blacks aren't allowed so why can't we have our own clubs, but we do have Jack and Jill. Also the NAACP.

ALchemy: I reread the Autobiography of Malcom X a couple of weeks ago and I pretty much agree with most of his premises. Yes, I think there does need to be some seperation because the root causes of our low education drive is cultural. And a cultural revolution is NEEDED!!!!

The NAAP does nothing but be nostalgic............I seriously doubt that their relevant anymore.

Im speaking from experience- BEen an officer in town's NAACP and served as MC for California State Youth Conference

mr.tubbz: i know the naacp isn't great anymore but since it is still around i was thinking maybe it just needs some major revisions.

MR. Tubbz..... the reason african americans separate themselves is because black-americans force us to do so. they go around teasing us because of our names, our hair, our lips, our intelligence etc..... it is not the fault of the african american that the majority of black americans aren't as successful, and aren't as intelligent (therefore... jealous).

oh wait a minute i didn't read all the updated posts I still stand behind what I said, I am not apologizing to her because she is right rather she is being stupid and wrong and it is not because she is black. And no that does not mean I side with Kenshinsan. Pleases specifically point out the people who have been stereotyping Tubbz because it was definitely not most of the Africans. It was just one girl, wowzer, then alchemy put in his/her two cents. I apologize to make her feel better about being so naive and immature in her beliefs.

funny thing is. my mom thinks (going w/ the kenshinsan thing....) that black american girls and black african girls are too good for the black american boy... a lot of times it is true. black american girls seem to be a little bit more successful. (not including sports or anything)....but of course there are always exceptions. most likely i'd end up w/ a hispanic.... just cause.. i like spanish and i like the diversity.

I don't think Africans are smarter...

u may not think..... but there are more black americans in the u.s. than africans....... and so (this is arbitrary) if u took 100,000 black americans and 100,000 africans...... i'm betting that 80% of the africans would be smart compared to 25-30% of black americans.

I guess this goes along w/ the OP's statement/purpose of this thread.

There is a higher proportion of us getting good test scores and pursuing higher education than Black Americans. That doesn't mean we're smarter, no, but that's where that perception comes from and that's the logic the article was using. People forget that there are other factors and reasons that contribute the negative stereotypes of Black America. And that's what most of the Africans, in this forum have been trying to say.

and yes that article did clarify my point thank you
