wow bendrumfront, just shut up please. Seinfeld is a great show yes, but the reason I hate it is because it drags along pompous supercilious fans like you. If you really think you need be have an "exclusive" thought process to understand the humor in seinfeld, then you are truly a dolt.
Seinfeld is made to poke fun at the averages boring lives of joe schmoes like YOU. Remind me what the crux of the cast consists of again? Oh yes, a balding unemployed guy who ends up working for the Yankess (but that's realistic for you!), a ugly *****y woman who nags at pretty much anything and anyone, and a guy who never seems to hold a job and spends the majority of his time in his apartment. The average plotline consists of the four characters going out to a movie or eating out at a chinese restaurant. Oh yes, also MAKING A SHOW AOBUT NOTHING AND GETTING FUNDING FROM NBC (BUT AGAIN! THAT'S REALISTIC FOR YOU!)

Oh and also another thing. Bendrumfront, I find it ironic that you think people who oppose your views on a ****ing sitcom are people of a lower class when you are the one making up strawman arguments based on facts that you pull out of your ass (actually, now that I looked at it, your "evidences" are either all completely flawed, or outright direct attacks with absolutely no contribution to the debate at hand.) Next time actually try to gather up some evidence before making an argument for yourself, instead of relying on big words that you've recently learned that have nothing to do with the discussion (ie what the hell does misogyny have to do with anything? seems to me like you just whipped it out without deliberation and jump on the first attempt to give a verbatim dictionary definition just to make yourself look smarter than you really are)

it also seems to me that you are not even mature enough to look beyond the transparent jokes of seinfeld and actually comprehend the social commentary that is planted deep within it (much like morals in fables and poetry, and probably the most valuable part of the show). I believe one of the most important lessons is that grandiosity doesn't fare well with people.

dooit, Seinfeld takes everyday oddities, that Jerry finds humorous in his stand-up (which is also very good), and over exaggerates them. For example when they park in a handicapped spot to go quickly into the store for a gift for the Drake, and come out with a mad crowd of angry people protesting George's parking selection. Now, in real life, of course this most likely wouldn't ever happen, but do we not all have a little "back of the mind" fear that if we were to park in a handicapped spot without being handicapped that some crazy thing like this would happen? Come on, we all have these funny fears, and Seinfeld plays on them in the greatest way... it's so ****ing funny, really!

No 311Griff, I absolutely agree that it is one of the best shows ever to hit television (its ratings can attest to that). However, in my opinion it is far from the deity of sitcoms that everyone makes it out to be.
What really tapped my cord was nothing related to the show at all. It's the comments of ignorant spoiled kids like bendrumfront who aren't even of age yet and who thinks they know everything, and immediately jumps on anyone who thinks otherwise.

Yeah, dooit, I find that attitude with many a show though... i tell people I think American Idol doesn't turn me on, because I prefer bands who made it themselves, i.e. 311, and I get flack from people for that sometimes... or the O.C. (which I don't care to watch), or Friends (which I think is plain dumb comedy), etc. I think people, once really loyal to a certain show, almost take it personally when others dog it. I don't ever trash people seriously for not liking a show I like, but I'll tease them... and I can take teasing too, but not serious hate stuff.

Come to think of it, a few semesters ago there was a kid in my Spanish class who had transferred from Northwestern (and made sure everybody knew about it, pretty much everyday--lest someone missed out, or forgot), and I started telling him that i didn't like George Bush, or the O.C. and he never talked to me again. His response was "I'm republican and I love the O.C. and I won't argue about either." To this day, he won't even acknowledge my presence... I say **** him.

Seinfeld is probably the greatest show ever created. It makes fun of everyday life, so if you don't get it you're probably missing out on life!!!!!!!
Everyone should give it another chance!

dooit-
Okay, so I think you almost killed me. Literally, when I reading your little soapbox trantrum I think my brain cells just about stopped firing all together.

Anyway, I came to this conclusion: Why the hell are you on this thread if you hate Seinfeld so much? Why don't you go join the Gilmore Girls or O.C. thread?

And more to the point, Seinfeld is the greatest, God-given show on earth. The end.

Eh, sitcoms are okay but I wouldn't tune in to watch them each week. I prefer dramas.

Oh you're one of those Law and Order people. Blech.

Wow can you not understand anything you read or are you just plain stupid?

Oh stop your whining. You're just mad because you know Seinfeld is the greatest, most funniest show ever, why else would you keep coming back to this thread? For none other reason than to bow down to the greatest comedian the twenty-first century has ever seen: Jerry Seinfeld.

lol haha i just got it- you are just being plain stupid

Hey, I have a great idea, why don't you scoot on over to my official thread, yes, that's right, I've made an official bendrumfront thread. That would be a muchmore appropriate place to voice your opinion about the all-knowing, great Bendrumfront!!

Im actually not a Law and Order type..it's ok. i like the shows like greys anatomy and stuff..

seinfeld is great...what really makes seinfeld great is how you can watch an episode you have seen several times and its still funny..seinfeld has excellent replay value..which is a trait a lot of shows do not have..also curb your enthusiasm is great too..larry david boy does he have a funny mind
