I logged on today and was really surprised to see an invitation to the Honors program! My financial aid doesnt have a merit scholarship listed so I was really surprised to get the invitation. Can anyone tell me more about the Honors program in general? I am definitely considering applying, but was wondering if anyone knew anything more about the program.

I don’t think applying to honors program is same as commiting to school. Whether you’re accepted to the program or not, you have until May 1st to make your decision.

I called admissions today and they confirmed I was indeed selected to apply for the honors program, they also confirmed that all honor students receive merit. They told me the letters were sent out last week.

But once again I logged into my portal today and the “box” which said I was selected to be in the honors program was gone. Also, I still don’t know how much merit I’ve been offered.

Mine is the same way… the box was there yesterday and now its gone. I havn’t received any merit money yet either. I guess I’ll call later and try and figure out if I was supposed to be invited or not.

tonycar, let me know if you figure anything out or get any word on the merit money. I thinkI’ll call later this week if mine is still being weird haha.

Hello all, I’m the Director of Admissions at USD and I apologize for all the confusion. The Honor’s section of the portal appeared to many admitted students who were unfortunately not invited to apply. We are terribly sorry about this and are working to fix the problem. Official notice of merit scholarships and the invitation to apply to the Honors program were included in the official letter of acceptance. If you saw the Honors channel and now don’t, I again apologize for the confusion.

If you have any other questions, please let me know at spultz@sandiego.edu. Congratulations on your acceptance!
