Selecting a Major on College Apps

The title says it all. I want to major in economics in college. However, I don't have any activities to back this up. I am not in FBLA or an Investment Club. But economics is the most popular major at most colleges. So how do kids select economics on their college apps without backing it up? Most of my activities are science related. The only one that would come close to economics is MUN. I'm worried that adcoms will wonder why I want to major in economics even though I haven't participated in related activities. Any help? Thanks.

Yeah, Adcoms doesn't really care. You declare your major once you get into college anyway, some colleges at the end of sophmore year atleast.

most really important point that they make is between engineers and arts and sciences students. I wouldn't be worried about anything.

If so, put political science instead. lol

It doesn't matter what major you put. However, adcoms don't want people to try and game the system (putting down a random major you have no connection to just because it is unpopular). If I were you I'd go in as undecided or as a science major. If you have a strong science background, I can tell you (from experience) that applying as a science major to schools with special science programs, unique science majors, or lots of research opportunities will give you a lot more to write about in your "Why This College" essay compared to describing why it would be the perfect place for you to pursue an economics major.
