selecting classes before taking the placement test

I'll be a freshman next semester and I still havent taken my placement test, i'll be taking it in a week and I was wondering can i still select classes if i havent taken the placement test?

For which subject?

If math (up to calculus 1), you can try these at home and use them to estimate your placement if you must select courses before seeing your placement test results:

[Placement Test](http://math.tntech.edu/e-math/placement/index.html)
[Calculus Diagnostic Placement Exam | Department of Mathematics at University of California Berkeley](http://math.berkeley.edu/courses/choosing/placement-exam)

I was wondering for the required cored english math and science

For English, does your school have recommendations based on SAT/ACT/AP/IB test results or previous course work?

For science, the prerequisites are typically listed in the course catalog. For example, general chemistry may list high school chemistry as a prerequisite, and students without may be advised to take an introductory chemistry course.

Since you have not named your school or the courses you are considering taking or your background information (what courses you have completed previously or any test scores), no one can give you any specific information.
